Actalent is looking for a Propulsion Engineer in the Montreal region

This position is for a Propulsion Engineer to work in the Aerospace and Defense industry. The company is one of the largest in its industry and is looking to grow in the coming months by adding to their teams. The company is located in Ville Saint-Laurent.

Be involved in all aspects of engineering as it relates to the maintenance, repair and overhaul of the CFM56 engine. this includes both preventative and corrective maintenance as well as work scoping; defining the maintenance tasks required for an aircraft engine.

Job Description:

Inspect Engines: Check aircraft engines to make sure they're working properly and safely.

Diagnose Issues: Find out what's wrong when an engine isn't working right.

Repair and Replace Parts: Fix or swap out broken or worn-out engine parts.

Perform Maintenance: Do regular check-ups and tune-ups to keep engines running smoothly.

Test Engines: Run tests to ensure engines are performing well after repairs.

Keep Records: Document all the work done on engines for future reference and compliance.

Preventive Maintenance: Regularly scheduled maintenance to prevent unexpected failures.

Corrective Maintenance: Repairs made after a failure has occurred.

Condition-Based Maintenance: Monitoring the engine's condition in real-time to perform maintenance as needed

Work scoping:

Inspection: Determining the extent of wear and tear.Repair: Identifying parts that need fixing or replacing.Overhaul: Comprehensive examination and refurbishment of the engine.Documentation: Recording all maintenance activities for regulatory compliance and future reference.

Knowledge of the aircraft engine lifecycle:

1. Design and Development: Creating the engine with specific performance and durability goals.

2. Manufacturing: Producing the engine components and assembling them.

3. Operation: The engine is used in flight, where it undergoes regular maintenance to ensure safety and efficiency.

4. Maintenance and Overhaul: Periodic inspections, repairs, and overhauls to extend the engine's operational life.

5. Retirement and Disposal: Eventually, the engine is discontinued from service and disposed of or recycled.
