Job Description:

Intermountain Foundation oversees fundraising for the Intermountain Healthcare system of hospital facilities and initiatives. The Prospect Development Analyst 2 assumes a leading role to support database hygiene and moves management needs for Foundation Major Gifts, Associate Gifts, Corporations & Foundations, and Planned Giving, and Campaign fundraising efforts.

The Prospect Management & Research (PM&R) Team is a collaborative group of data-driven individuals, working in a multi-region hybrid environment. We are looking to add a team member who is motivated, positive, flexible, curious, and comfortable working in a rapidly changing organization.

Position Details:

The Prospect Development Analyst assists in the identification, research, and analysis of donors and prospects. The Analyst regularly interfaces with a wide varied of customers among the Foundation Major Gifts Team at the Foundation’s central office and at local facilities system-wide. Working collaboratively and independently, the Analyst will provide excellent, reliable, and dependable customer service in support of Foundation initiatives. The incumbent may be hired on at a Level I or Level II, depending on experience.

This is a hybrid position. Incumbent will work Monday-Friday during regular business hours.

Job Essentials:

The Prospect Development Analyst partners with the Prospect Management and Research Manager and the Prospect Development Analyst 2 in the following business needs:

Assists the Prospect Management and Research team in expanding Intermountain’s prospect pool by proactively identifying prospects for research, as well as prioritizing large-scale prospect pools via wealth screening and data mining.Uses proactive research methods to identify and qualify prospective individuals, corporations, and foundations capable of financial support. Identifies connections to new prospects through known or likely relationships with Intermountain Healthcare and its boards, physicians, and/or lead donors.Conducts biographical and financial research on prospects utilizing in-house, online, and print resources, including complex financial and legal disclosures, corporate reports, proxy statements, and foundation tax reports. Produces confidential research on prospects for strategy planning, events, and other meetings. Responds in a time-sensitive manner to requests.Documents processes and collaborates with Prospect Management and Research team on processes and procedures manuals.Using Raiser’s Edge, internal dashboards, and/or other software, participates in distribution of regular reports to track the quality of the prospect pool, portfolios, and gift officer performance metrics.Assists the Prospect Management and Research Manager in analyzing, managing, and monitoring major gifts officers’ portfolios through the fundraising cycle.Maintains integrity of prospect management components of Raiser’s Edge database. Provides regular quality checks to ensure accuracy of demographic, biographical, moves management, wealth, portfolio, and proposal data. Complies with Intermountain Foundation policies as well as federal and state laws including HIPAA concerning fundraising and information management. Adheres to ethical standards and best practices set by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), and the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (Apra).Stays current on local hospital and system-wide activities, events, and achievements.Participates in continuing education to enhance skills. Maintains awareness of changes in philanthropy patterns. Keeps a finger on the pulse of healthcare philanthropy trends, particularly in prospect research, moves management, wealth screening, and data mining.

Prospect Development Analyst I Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution plus two-plus years of prospect development experience with demonstrated achievement OR Five years of prospect development experienceAdvanced writing skills that produce clear, accurate, and detailed reports.Excellent organization skills. Ability to analyze, synthesize, and communicate data, trends, and sensitive data.Working understanding of privacy and confidentiality best practices and HIPAA compliance. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and with discretion.Functional working experience with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge or similar fundraising database.Strong project and planning skills that demonstrate detail orientation, timeliness, and ability to work under pressure while managing multiple projects at once.Ability to work independently with little supervision while balancing need to provide key data and updates to primary customers and leadership.Ability to communicate with a variety of audiences on key findings, trends, best practices, and workflow processes.A sense of humor and a spirit of proactive collaboration.
 

Prospect Development Analyst II Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and five-plus years of prospect development experience ORSeven years of prospect development experience.Advanced writing skills that produce clear, accurate, and detailed reports.Excellent organization skills. Ability to analyze, synthesize, and communicate data, trends, and sensitive data.In-depth understanding of privacy and confidentiality best practices and HIPAA compliance. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and with discretion.Functional working experience with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge or similar fundraising database.Strong project and planning skills that demonstrate detail orientation, timeliness, and ability to work under pressure while managing multiple projects at once.Ability to work independently with little supervision while balancing need to provide key data and updates to primary customers and leadership. Ability to assume a leadership role as necessary in meetings.Experience devising and deploying creative solutions to complex, time-sensitive issues.Ability to communicate with a variety of audiences on key findings, industry trends, best practices, and day-to-day workflow processes.A sense of humor and a spirit of proactive collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

Fundraising experience in a healthcare environment.Experience collaborating in a complex matrix organization.Effective interpersonal skills, including relationship-building and communication in-person, by phone, and via email with diverse groups of internal and external colleagues (such as Foundation staff, other internal Inter-mountain caregivers, and consultants).

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$32.77 - $51.61
