Prospect Research Analyst, Remote Opportunity

Description:The Prospect Research Analyst provides donor and organization prospect research/analytics services in support of the regional health ministries (RHMs) across Trinity Health. Performs in-depth prospect research on current and potential donors, board members and others. Analyzes biographical, financial, or other data obtained from a variety of internal and external sources to determine capacity and inclination to give. Responsible for entering, updating, and maintaining prospect research data in the Trinity Health shared donor data management system; developing and producing prospect research reports and other prospect data analytics. Interacts regularly with RHM Foundation and Development Office colleagues regarding prospect research and data results. In collaboration with the Manager, Prospect Research & Analytics. presents information to RHM Foundation & Development Office Colleagues to facilitate effective cultivation and solicitation of Annual, Major, Planned, and Principal Gift prospects.POSITION PURPOSE

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the mission, vision, and values of Trinity Health.

Adheres to the Code of Professional Fundraising Ethics, Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA) Code of Ethics and the Association for Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Donor's Bill of Rights and fulfills all aspects of the Trinity Health standard Code of Conduct.

Maintains confidentiality of wealth screening processes and output results and protects donors/prospects sensitive personal information.

Keeps current with HIPAA and Fundraising regulations and works to ensure compliance with all Protected Health Information (PHI) confidentiality requirements.

Uses research skills to collect, analyze, and distribute information to enable accurate and educated decision-making in the development of fundraising strategies.

Provides research on individuals, corporations and foundations using a wide variety of organizational and financial sources, including online database services, internet websites, library and government sources and other resources of public information.

Collaborates with Manager, Prospect Research & Analytics and RHMs to clarify research requests.

Produces, tests, and deploys custom reports, ad-hoc queries, and data exports to support Prospect Research.  Ensures accuracy and completeness of reports and other documents.

Collects and analyzes information to assess financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies and giving propensity of donors/prospects.

Maintains and updates prospect records in Trinity Health’s shared national database in a timely manner.

Maintains good rapport and cooperative relationships, providing excellent customer service to internal and/or external customers.

Maintains a working knowledge of the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree is required. Degree in Information Science, Library Science or related field is preferred.

1 – 3 years of previous experience in Fundraising Operations or Prospect Research. Healthcare or Higher Education experience is preferred.

Knowledge of and familiarity in the use and applications of industry standard data analytics and research tools is required. Such tools may include, but are not limited to:  ResearchPoint, Lexis Nexis, Guidestar, Candid (formerly known as Foundation Directory Online), and various county deeds and other public websites.

Knowledge of and familiarity with donor databases. Blackbaud Raiser's Edge and Blackbaud CRM is preferred.

Knowledge of and proficiency in Microsoft applications.

Familiarity with the donor solicitation cycle (identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship).   

Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to develop and deliver accurate, confidential, detailed, and polished donor profiles and reports.

Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health and of Trinity Health Philanthropy Services.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be able to adopt the frequently changing work priorities, and be able to prioritize and balance the requirements of working with the System Office and Regional Health Ministries (RHMs)

Must be able to travel to the various Trinity Health sites as needed.
