Protection & Controls Electrical Engineer

Description

Burns & McDonnell is an engineering consulting firm with offices in Canada and the US, they provide design and engineering services to various industries such as oil & gas, pulp & paper, power and food & beverage.

They are currently seeking an experienced Protection & Controls Electrical Engineer to join their team in Calgary to support the transmission & distribution group. They will work on project teams to create designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments on a variety of projects including power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government and military facilities. The P&C Electrical Engineer will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting electrical plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

7+ years experience as an electrical engineer (with a P.Eng)

EPC background preferred

Protection & Control experience

Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office

Proficient in AutoCAD, MicroStation, 2D and 3D programs

Understanding of ANSI and IEEE Standard

Has led a design of a project from begin to completion and performed quality reviews on designs

Has worked on several large projects at once

SOFT SKILLS:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.

Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $66.00 - $87.00

This is a hybrid position in Calgary,AB.
