Come and join this dedicated team as a Protection Services Supt Specialised. The Protection Services Superintendent Specialized, Product Investigation Unit (PIU) role is a specialized position that support the Protection Services Senior Superintendent Specialized PIU in managing complex or high-profile investigations and information gathering in the interest of Anglo-American Platinum. The role reports to the Protection Services Senior Superintend Specialized PIU and is expected to apply best practices in investigative and information gathering techniques to identify and apprehend suspects, recover losses, and advise on the minimization breaches of security.

The time frame of work is up to 1 year, but some projects will be on a longer timeframe.

It should be recognized that this role could lead to company and personal risk in its activities.

Job Description

Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Management of PIU Time and AttendanceAnalysis if information received form PIU Team members / SAPS and compiling of charts, profiles.Management of effective filing system for PIUIdentify best practices applicable to the role through benchmarking other platinum proceduresImplementing investigation technologies and equipment approaches that would be effective for the UnitConduct investigations within the UnitBuild relationships with the community and local law enforcement agenciesMentor effective risk management approaches relating to Protection ServicesInput of ideas for Protection Services management decisionsIdentify opportunities to improve Protection Services within the UnitSupport the development and acceptance of business plans, strategies and SLA’s for Protection Services in the UnitConduct annual, quarterly and acting performance ratings on subordinatesParticipate, support and manage OTTO standards and driveConduct data interrogation, analysis and profiling on crime information related database systemsDetection of patterns and trends in data related to priority crimesConducting comprehensive reconstruction analyses of identified trendsAccurate and comprehensive identification of crime threatsTimely, comprehensive and accurate response to urgent requestsEnsure discretion and confidentialityAdhering to safety, regulations, Acts, Codes of practices and standards.

QualificationsGrade 12NQF level 5 Qualification in Investigation /Policing/Security/Law and or equivalent, RPL/Prior experience.Registered with PSIRA Grade AValid driver’s license code B

Experience:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in Security or equivalent environment of which 3 years should be in Investigation/ Information Gathering / SurveillanceExperience in profiling of persons of interest and entities will be advantageous.SAP proficiency will be advantageous.  3 years experience in supervisory position will be beneficial
