**Job Title: Prototype Assembler**
**Job Description**
In this exciting role, you will have a seat and a voice at the table from the very beginning regarding any new or enhanced part or product. You will interact with production, engineering, the prototype team, and leadership, as well as occasionally the commercial end user. This is a key role that reports directly to the VP of Manufacturing. Once the idea is conceived, 3D modeling is completed, and blueprints are approved, you step in to build the mule. Your knowledge of welding, machining, hydraulics, paint, and fixture building will serve you well in building the first pre-production model. You will get a chance to see your ideas in action on some of the top golf courses and sports fields around the world.
**Responsibilities**
+ Fabricate prototype parts to print (welding, machining, sheet metal, etc.)
+ Assemble prototype machines
+ Test prototype machines based on engineering test procedures and troubleshoot issues
+ Teach assemblers how to assemble new production machines and verify they are assembled correctly
+ Design (with engineer assistance) and fabricate fixtures for assembly and welding
+ Understand and work with hydraulic systems
+ Perform MIG welding of mild steel
+ Operate machining tools such as Engine Lathe, Bridgeport Mill, Bandsaw, Drill Press, etc.
+ Work with simple 12 Volt electrical systems
+ Read blueprints and apply basic design instincts
+ Troubleshoot and solve issues on equipment
+ Use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
+ Train, answer questions, and communicate with a wide range of employees including engineers, drafters, assemblers, and supervisors
**Essential Skills**
+ Blueprint reading
+ Welding (MIG welding of mild steel)
+ Mechanical and manual machining
+ Fabrication (hand tool, power tool, weld, press brake)
+ Understanding of hydraulic systems
+ Troubleshooting and problem-solving
+ Use of measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
+ Ability to train and communicate effectively with diverse team members
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with simple 12 Volt electrical systems
+ Basic design instincts
+ Ability to design and fabricate fixtures for assembly and welding

**Work Environment**
The work environment is a job shop that is fairly organized with a variety of different machines. The facility is well-lit and there is talk about room for expansion. The work hours are from 6am-4:30pm, Monday through Thursday, with optional availability on Fridays.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00
