**Job Title: Prototype Machinist** **Job Description** We are looking for an experienced machinist interested in working in our Prototyping and New Product Introduction department. This are full-time opportunities with a busy and expanding job shop. Applicants with 4-axis and 5-axis machine setup experience are encouraged to apply, although we welcome a wide range of CNC machining, tooling, and precision machining experience. **Responsibilities** + Set up and operate CNC mill or lathe by following written and oral work instructions, changing out and adjusting tooling, and making basic code adjustments with supervisor permission as needed. + Inspect parts with precision measurement tools like calipers and micrometers to ensure quality expectations are met. + Reference blueprints and utilize GD&T to create parts. + Perform basic maintenance and upkeep on your designated machine. Maintain a clean work station and return any borrowed tools from the Tool Crib. + Collaborate with other machinists and supervisors to work through production issues or improvements. Good written and oral communication is a must. + Be punctual and reliable. **Essential Skills** + 2-5+ years' experience in a CNC machining role, ideally in a job shop environment. + Ability to read blueprints, work orders, and interpret GD&T symbols. + Proficiency in using precision measurement tools. + Ability to perform shop math and convert metric measurements to inches. + Capability to perform first article runs and inspections of parts. + Stand for the majority of your shift and lift up to 35 pounds independently. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with lathe and mill machining. + Knowledge of tool and die making, manual lathe, and grinding. + Familiarity with Mastercam and SolidWorks. + Skills in blueprint reading, machine setup, and metal fabrication. + Experience with troubleshooting and using hand tools. **Why Work Here?** Join a growing company with a significant volume of work on the horizon. It is organized with a specific flow of work through the shop. Flexible start times are available after 90 days.
