GEICO is seeking an experienced, strategic, and adaptable Auto and Commercial Auto Claims Subrogation Manager to lead our claims subrogation team. This role is crucial to driving successful recovery outcomes, improving our operational processes, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in claims liability or subrogation, a solid background in leadership, and a track record of implementing effective strategies to enhance team performance and recovery results.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the auto and commercial auto claims subrogation unit, ensuring efficient and effective processing of claims for optimal recovery.Manage hiring, training, and professional development for the subrogation team, building a skilled and motivated workforce.Develop and implement strategic initiatives to streamline processes, improve recovery rates, and reduce cycle times. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate team performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide coaching as needed.Conduct regular performance reviews, set individual and team goals, and promote accountability and professional growth.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align subrogation processes with broader company goals, ensuring a seamless claims experience.Stay informed of industry trends and regulatory changes to adapt strategies and maintain compliance.Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the team to proactively identify and suggest process enhancements.Handle escalated claims issues, making strategic decisions to resolve complex or high-value cases.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Insurance, or a related field (or equivalent work) preferred.5+ years of experience in claims subrogation, with a focus on auto and commercial auto claims.3+ years of managerial experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.Strong strategic thinking and adaptability to manage change and drive process improvements.Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.Proficiency with claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
