Timeline:

The internship program will run from Monday, June 2nd, 2025, to Friday, August 8th, 2025.

Corporate Technology (CT)  

Architecture  

Chief Technology Office (CTO)  

Chief Operating Office (COO)  

Information Security Office (ISO) 

U.S. Businesses (USB)

Your Typical Day:   

Build applications ensuring that the code follows latest coding practices and industry standards, using modern design patterns and architectural principles; with guidance, actively code and execute against the roadmap   

Develop high quality, well documented and efficient code adhering to all applicable Prudential standards    

Collaborate with product owners in understanding needs and defining feature stories, tech leads in defining technical design and other team members to understand the system end-to-end and deliver robust solutions that bring about business impact   

Write unit, integration tests and functional automation, researching problems discovered by quality assurance or product support  

Continue to advance understanding of relevant and emerging technologies with learning and innovation embedded in the day-to-day    

Work on problems of moderate scope in which analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors  

Use programming languages and frameworks including but not limited to Python, Java or JavaScript, Shell/Power scripting, Groovy, Ansible, CloudFormation, React, Springboot, Node.js Terraform   

Use agile software methodology for speed to market and iterative development  

The goal of the summer internship is to identify and pipeline top technology talent for our two-year leadership rotation program. Through high-impact experiences and diverse rotations focused on engineering and data skills, the full-time program develops you for future leadership roles. The program combines on‐the‐job training with formal education experiences, special project assignments, mentoring, coaching and engagement with senior leaders.

                

Required Qualifications:

Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s program graduating between December 2025 and May 2027

Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant majors include Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, and Statistics; we welcome all other technical areas of study that include programming theory in your curriculum

Leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts, and perspectives to the benefit of the organization 

Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling on challenges 

Familiarity and interest with the following: 

Object-oriented design concepts, data structures, and algorithms  

Programming languages, technology stacks and/or data tools such as: Python, Java or JavaScript, React, Springboot, Node.js, MongoDB, Splunk, SQL, Tableau, Full / MEAN / MERN stack, SQS, Kinesis 

AWS Core Services: AWS Services such as CloudWatch, Code-Deploy 

Application Programming Interfaces (API) 

Unit, interface and end user testing concepts and tooling (functional & non-functional) 

Automated testing 

Accessibility awareness 

Software security skills including secure coding, web application security and DevSecOps 

Dev Ops Tools & Practices: GitHub, Bitbucket or Subversion; DevOps, Jenkins 

Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Monitoring and logging techniques 

Agile methodology including Agile Scrum, Kanban, or Lean 

AWS Core Services: AWS Services such as CloudWatch, Code-Deploy

Note: The hourly range for this role is $36.00 to $38.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
