PSCI Research Assistant - Chwalisz (Fall 2024 902108)

The student will help with research of the political science literature regarding illicit economies, as well as migrant political engagement. To do this, the student is expected to familiarize themselves with a Political Science Literature Review. 

The students will have weekly meetings with the supervisor for guidance and mentorship. 

Skills requested are: 

Library research skills  Familiarity with political science, evidenced through foundational course work  Writing skills  Ability to multitask  Ability to keep deadlines 

Time Frame: 

Fall Semester 2024 

Expectations: 

Attends weekly one hour meeting   Pursues familiarity with political science literature review: review these sources  Schedules and completes at least one meeting with Brenda Ellis, the Political Science research librarian, on how to identify peer reviewed political science journal articles, and how to search journals.   A minimum of 6 hours a week of research work, to be tracked in Toggl Track.  

Deliverables: 

A copy of relevant journal articles in a shared Dropbox folder   A memo explaining the Dropbox organization, if there are several folders  Brief notes on each article in a shared OneNote Section. These should include Citation (APA style), Abstract, Argument, Methods Used, and a link to the Dropbox location of the relevant article, as well as anything the RA considers noteworthy.
