PSG Tech Trainee, Marshall Medical Centers (South), Full Time

Under the general supervision of the Sleep Center Director and Sleep Center Medical Director, perform hook-up and diagnostic procedures related to patient care in accordance with the Sleep Center Policy and Procedure manual.  Assist with clerical duties including admitting, filing, and record keeping and cleaning.   Earn and retain BLS CPR certification.    Perform adequate NPSGs/MSLTs/MWTs.    Maintain the yearly requirement of Continuing Education Credits as deemed necessary by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).   A-STEP certification in Polysomnography is now a requirement and the sole responsibility of the individual technologist.  If for some reason the technologist fails to complete ASTEP modules, the employee will be counseled and given a timeframe of adequate completion of the requirement as governed by AASM.  The employee will have 2 ASTEP exam attempts within the first 6 months of eligibility to earn a passing exam/certification.  If after such period has expired, and /or the candidate fails the exam, the candidate will be terminated.   The following duties considered to be necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered a detailed description of all the work requirements, which may be inherent in the position. 


A high school diploma or equivalent preferred (i.e. GED)

CPR certification prior to working unsupervised

Willingness to complete ASTEP course successfully outlined by AASM to reach registry eligibility
