Psi Iota Teaching Fellowship Advertisement, Department of History

The Department of History at Rowan University, the third fastest growing public research institution as recognized by The Chronicle of Higher Education, is seeking to fill the Psi Iota Teaching Fellowship in Latino/a History for the 2025-2026 academic year. Psi Iota is the department’s chapter of the Phi Alpha Theta (PAT), the national history honor society. This position is designated for ABDs and recent Ph.Ds. The successful candidate will teach two courses a semester, one of which will be our survey course, “The History of Now,” and the other a course on Latino/a history and/or the candidate’s specialty. The candidate’s primary field should be in Latino/a history; the secondary field is open. The candidate is expected to meet with Latino/a students to foster community and sponsor events related to Latino/a history and culture.

The Psi Iota Teaching Fellow will have access to the University’s libraries and databases, secretarial support, and a salary totaling $30,000. The candidate can combine this fellowship with others. This is a part-time position with no benefits. The candidate will have the opportunity to share a chapter or other in-progress research with faculty members in the History Department’s works-in-progress seminar. The Psi-Iota Fellow will be expected to interact with the Psi Iota branch of PAT at Rowan University.
