About the role:
As a Patient Support Services Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the healthcare team by delivering flexible and patient-centered services. You’ll be involved in a variety of tasks from assisting with patient meals and movements to maintaining cleanliness and managing equipment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, empathetic, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment. A willingness to adapt and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist patients with meal ordering, deliver meals and beverages, and help with patient movements and transfers under clinical staff direction. Manage service requests via handheld devices, ensure effective communication with the Help Desk, and coordinate with various hospital services for an integrated approach. Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in clinical areas, manage linen, and support with spot cleaning and general upkeep of the environment. Ensure cleanliness and proper functioning of patient equipment, report faults, and follow infection control guidelines. Adhere to health and safety policies, participate in Zero Harm initiatives, and ensure patient confidentiality and service quality.Available Schedules for Part-Time Work:
Mon- Fri - 0700 - 1400 Part time 32.5 hours pw
Sat-Tue - 0700-1500 Part time 30 hours pw
Thu-Sun - 0700-1500 Part Time 30 hours pw
Sat-Tue -1500-2130 Part time 24 hours pw

About you:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, families, and clinical staff clearly and empathetically. Previous experience in a healthcare environment or similar role is preferred, with a basic understanding of patient care procedures and safety protocols. Ability to manage tasks flexibly, prioritise responsibilities, and handle multiple duties efficiently within a dynamic clinical setting. Competency in following hygiene regulations, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the proper handling of equipment and patient care materials. Willingness to adapt to changing work requirements, a positive attitude towards teamwork, and proactive participation in improving service delivery and safety standards.Why work for us?
