**Join our unique Residential Addiction Medicine Services team, home to the area's only Dual Diagnosis and Residential 820 program. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, provide compassionate care to emotionally distressed, mentally challenged, and multiply disabled patients across all age groups.** Part Time (20 Hours/week) Jamestown, NY **Responsibilities:** + Encourages and assists patients with activities of daily living. + Ensures a safe and therapeutic environment, supporting a structured and consistent milieu program. + Effectively manages crisis situations using positive, proactive approaches. + Supports nursing staff in providing physical care and documents patient information per policy. + Communicates ongoing observations of patient medical and behavioral symptoms to the treatment team and charge nurse. + Actively participates in interdisciplinary activities, including treatment planning, staff meetings, and unit committees. + Assists in organizing and completing night shift documentation to ensure seamless coordination of care. + Takes initiative to maintain a clean, organized, and functional unit environment + High school diploma or equivalent required. + Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. + Physically capable of providing total care to mentally ill patients, including lifting, supporting, and responding to crises. + Ability to push and pull equipment such as wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds. + May enter rooms where medications are stored but cannot handle medications. + May assist in distributing medications to the nurse at the bedside, with no direct medication access. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** **UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran**
