Department: PSYCH CONSULTATION LIAISON Shift: Varies Status: PRN / Support The Psychiatric Consultation Liaison RN functions in a multi-faceted role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence in the practice of Nursing. The Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Team RN is responsible for maintaining high standards as described by the scope of care for the area of practice and demonstrates appropriate actions based on sound scientific research and evidence-based principles. The Psychiatric Consultation Liaison RN also coordinates care delivered by the interdisciplinary team. The Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Team RN is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, applicable regulatory standards and institutional policies and procedures. The Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Team RN provides physical, emotional and spiritual support that directly/indirectly impacts the patient outcomes and care provided to patients/families/significant others receiving care on inpatient nursing units. Patients served will be those experiencing mental health and/ or substance misuse concerns. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN required. Licensure: Current RN license from State of Ohio. Certification Current CPR certification required. State of Ohio license as a Chemical Dependency Counselor, Counselor, or Social Work preferred. Experience: 1-2 years working in the field of Chemical Dependency/ Behavioral Health preferred. Skills/Other: Good organizational skills and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously; Requires effective interpersonal communication skills for interactions with and /or teaching patients, physicians, families, ancillary staff and visitors; Self-directed individual who utilizes initiative, problem-solving, decision making and critical thinking skills to make appropriate decisions; Has the ability to work under stressful conditions; Able to collect and analyze data to make decisions for clinical improvement; demonstrates proficiency in treating patients with a non-judgmental approach
