The Psychiatric Clinical Social Worker I provides clinical care to children, adolescents, adults, and families including evaluation, treatment planning, and treatment of mental health conditions. The incumbent provides services utilizing evidence-based/informed treatment models that are best suited to the needs of the patient/family, and coordinates care with multi-disciplinary teams focused on the strengths and effective treatment individualized for the patient and family. The incumbent may be involved in training activities, outreach, and research as members of interdisciplinary programs and the department.
Responsibilities Provides high quality diagnostic and initial evaluations for patients and families referred to the Psychiatric Mental Health Program (PMHP).Engages in treatment planning and delivery in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members involved in care.Provides evidence based/informed mental health treatment focused on goals and measurement of outcomes.Utilizes supervision, interdisciplinary consultation, independent study, and training activities to ensure on-going refinement of skills in case conceptualization, evidence based/informed models, clinical techniques and remain current on relevant literature.Provides timely and accurate documentation within the electronic health record according to professional, departmental and Institute standards while maintaining billing and productivity standards (as established by the department).Serves on committees and participates in training, outreach, special projects, and research activities, as assigned.Participates in implementation and monitoring of performance improvement/performance evaluation and quality improvement projects.Participates in the instruction and supervision of social work trainees as eligible within the training program criteria and approval. Qualifications Must possess and maintain a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) license, issued by the Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Board of Social Work Examiners.Must receive additional training in evidence-based/informed models of care as driven by the current needs of the patient population served in the department/program.EDUCATION:
Master's degree from an accredited school of Social Work is required.Completion of post-master’s fellowship or certification in evidence-based/informed treatment models preferred.EXPERIENCE:
The candidate must have a minimum of two years of licensed clinical experience, preferably with children, adolescents, and adults with developmental, learning, medical and/or emotional disabilities. This experience must include at least one-year of experience providing evidence-based/informed therapy services.
