This position may be required to access and administer medications within their scope of practice and according to state law. **Responsibilities** Takes complex medical histories on patients referred for consultation by academic and community physicians. Performs physical examinations. Orders laboratory tests, x-rays, special imaging studies and other diagnostic procedures. Orders and supervises the administration of blood products. Reaches tentative diagnosis of medical, surgical and other conditions. Develops treatment plans in conjunction with attending physician to provide optimal patient medical management. Participates in continuing medical education to include specialty and sub-specialty meetings, clubs, boards and conferences. Assists in the collection of data for research projects. Orders consultations and interacts with members of other specialty medical teams. Participates in special projects and committee functions. **Minimum Qualifications** Required: + Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire. + Must hold a valid registered license in the state where they intend to practice as an advanced practice psychiatric mental health nurse and have successfully completed ANCC certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner ( PMHNP -BC). Preferred: + 2 years of ambulatory mental health experience is preferred **Preferences** Certification in ACLS / BLS / NRP / ATLS may be required by your department or by privileging criteria. **Special Instructions Summary** **Additional Information** The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems (“URS”).
