Position Summary: Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner - West Palm Beach, FL. The psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) is responsible for managing the mental health care provided by the Florida Atlantic University/Northwest Community Health Alliance/Community Health Center (FAU/NCHA/CHC). The mental health care services are offered at the FAU/NCHA/CHC sites and mobile partner locations in Palm Beach County. The psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner is actively involved as a provider of patient care and in the coordination of patient care in order to ensure the smooth progression of the patient’s medical evaluation and treatment. The psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner serves as a preceptor for psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner students enrolled at the FAU Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing. Summary of Responsibilities: + Serves as a preceptor for students in the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner concentration while providing mental health care to patients, families and groups across the lifespan in the clinic and mobile health unit settings. + Participates in the client’s plan of care, interdisciplinary team meetings, mobile health unit committee meetings when necessary. + Discusses findings as needed with attending physician, consulting staff, and interprofessional medical service providers. + Handles administrative tasks related to role. + Prepares written reports to share with the patient/family and health care providers, as appropriate and strictly following HIPAA guidelines and all FAU/NCHA/CHC procedures. + Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Registered Nurse & APRN Licensure for Florida, American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification- Board Certification required (PMHNP-BC) required. Minimum one year of clinical experience as a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner required. Preferred Qualifications/Skills: Bi-lingual - English and Spanish speaking. Experience with caring for underserved population, adults, children, families. Medicare Credentials. Experience with electronic health records Experience in precepting graduate level PMHNP Experience in working with underserved or rural populations. Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 per year. College or Department: OPS - CON: Research & Scholarship Location: Westgate Work Days and Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Weekends and evenings as needed.
