Deschutes County Behavioral Health (DCBH) is the Community Mental Health Program providing safety net and core clinical services for community members in Deschutes County dealing with mental health and substance use conditions. DCBH is also a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). ABOUT THE JOB: The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner works as part of a mental health treatment team. Duties include, but are not limited to, performing comprehensive psychiatric assessments and diagnosis; prescribing psychotropic medications to adults with psychiatric and/or substance abuse disorders; determining the medical necessity of proposed mental health services; and working collaboratively with other licensed independent practitioners, mental health practitioners, and primary care providers. This position is located in Deschutes County and may be eligible for a hybrid of in-office/remote work as allowed by policy and approved by the supervisor. Key Responsibilities: + Psychiatric principles and practices, laws, rules and regulations governing the provision of care to patients in the State of Oregon. + Processes, procedures and theories of clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment of behavioral health clients. + Principles, practices and theories of clinical education of patients in the areas of psychiatric care. What You Will Bring: Knowledge of or experience with: + Theories and practices of client management and treatment within the scope of certification. + Analytical tests and procedures used in clinical settings to determine the mental status of clients. + Pharmacology as applied to clinical nursing and prescription of drugs as authorized within the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner formulary and Oregon Revised Statutes.
