Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals and families, join our mission-driven team and experience a career well lived. **Nurse Practitioner- Relief** **Position covering youth program in South, Central and Northern areas of New Jersey** **$82/hour** Do you love providing great nursing care, knowing you are making a difference in people’s lives? As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide total nursing care to patients under the direction of a physician. + Interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and interpret the patient’s clinical problems and health care needs record physical findings and formulate a plan and prognosis based on the patient’s condition + Discuss the case with physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan; submit health care plan and goals of the patient for periodic review and evaluation by physician + Ensure that current and complete medical records and reports are in accordance with regulatory and corporate standards, including medication administration records and physicians’ orders + Educate patients and/or families about preventive care, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications + Recommend drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures + Administer prescribed medications according to established guidelines and approved nursing techniques; provide documentation for all medications given + Participate in quality and process improvement activities to improve individual care and related system **_Qualifications:_** + Master’s degree in Nursing with a current NJ state RN license + Three years of related experience + psychiatric advanced practical nurse, in affiliation with a New Jersey board - certified child / adolescent psychiatrist + DEA approval to prescribe controlled substances + Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program and current approval by the joint Board of Medical Examiners and Board of Nursing to perform medical acts + Self-motivated and detail-oriented with ability to multi-task + Excellent communication and analytical skills + Reliable, responsible, and caring nature + Commitment to the company’s mission and values **_Why Join Us?_** + Complex work adding value to the organization’s mission alongside a great team of coworkers + Enjoy job security with nationwide career development and advancement opportunities **We have meaningful work for you – come join our team –** **_Apply Today!_** **Join Our Team** If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals and families, we encourage you to join New Jersey Mentor’s mission of helping everyone live a full and happy life.
