The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for the provision of comprehensive psychiatric care to clients in the SCPS Care Mental Health clinics. This position has flexible, hybrid-model scheduling, with the incumbent working 60% time in the office at our Bronx clinic and our article 31 clinic in East Harlem.

Timely completion of psychiatric screenings and comprehensive evaluations of assigned children, adolescents, and young adults. Review of all health documents submitted to the agency regarding assigned mental health clinic patient populationParticipation in treatment team, care planning, dispositional and other conferences to ensure continuity of careDocumentation of all service provision, reports, medical forms, Treatment Plans, and other required health documents correctly, completely, and in a timely fashion as requiredPsychotherapeutic intervention including psychopharmacologic management and monitoringClinical consultation/collaboration with internal and external health and mental health practitionersDirect clinical consultation for routine and crisis management for assigned populationCoordination, collaboration and communication with families, childcare and social service professionals responsible for the care of assigned populationMake appropriate referrals and recommendations to internal/external ancillary mental health practitionersKeep abreast of the latest developments in child psychiatry as they relate to children and adolescents in foster care through continuous review of the literature and through utilization of the time allotted for continuing educationSupport with weekend on-call rotation several times per yearOther duties as required.Salary Range: $$139,230 - $142,730/year

QualificationsMust be a NYS Board Certified Nurse Practitioner with a specialty in Psychiatry.ANCC Certification requiredASAM Certification required;At least 2 years experience prescribing psychiatric medications to children/young adults.
