Psychiatric Occupational Therapist
Job Description

The Psychiatric Occupational Therapist will render occupational therapy services to inpatients, PHP and IOP patients, planning and conducting screening/assessments, developing treatment plans, delivering or supervising the delivery of treatment intervention and education for the purpose of enhancing insight into disease; directing the patient’s participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce and enhance the physical and mental performance, learning, skill development and productivity to improve self-care, cognitive and psychosocial skills and abilities, and improve the patient’s overall functional status in the home/work/community environment, and to diminish or correct pathology. The Psychiatric Occupational Therapist will function as a multidisciplinary team member within the hospital/psychiatric units and in interactions with other health care providers. Patients served include Adult-Geriatric.

Qualifications

BS in Occupational Therapy; MS degree preferred. Possesses a current Maryland State license or is eligible. One-year recent experience in a clinical psychiatric setting, as evidenced by academic training and clinical experience in adult psychiatric is preferred. New graduates with Level II Fieldwork in a psychiatric setting are welcome to apply. Previous experience using a business office suite, such as Microsoft, required.
