Summary:
Under direction of the RN: Ensures the safety of psychiatric patients and the EOC.
Provides therapeutic group and individual activities for patients in need of same.
Provides one to one emotional support and behavioral redirection to patients.
Carries out treatment plan interventions as outlined on the Multidisciplinary treatment plan.
Completes necessary physical care, Vital signs and POC testing on assigned patients.
Position Responsibilities:
• Ensures safety of the patient, under the direction of the RN, by implementing applicable Policies and Procedures when rounding on patients and unit.
• Provides therapeutic group and individual activity for patients.
• Provides emotional support and behavioral redirection to patients, under the direction of the RN, by implementing interventions from the multidisciplinary plan.
• Completes necessary physical care including vital signs and Point of Care (POC) testing.
Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:
At least 1 year of previous experience working as a PCT or working with Behavioral Health population in a residential or inpatient setting or graduate with a four-year psych degree required. Experience in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention preferred.
Required Education:
HS Diploma.
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology preferred.
Training/Certifications/Licensure:
.BLS certification.
