Matrix Providers is hiring a Psychiatric Technician to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families at the Navy Medicine Readiness & Training Command New England, Newport, RI. + Role: Outpatient Behavioral Health Psychiatric Technician + Clinical Setting: Medical Readiness Clinic, Behavioral Health Area + Employment Status: Full Time + Compensation: $23.99 to $31.75 Per hour + $2500 Sign on Bonus + Schedule: Monday - Friday (between the hours of 7:30 AM and 5PM) + No nights + No weekends + Benefits: Competitive financial package with a comprehensive insurance package including health, dental, vision, and life coverage. + Accrued Paid Time Off (PTO) + Paid Holidays (Outlined in Handbook) + 401(k) Plan Psychiatric Technician minimum qualifications: + Degree: Certificate + Education: Graduation from an accredited Psychiatric Technician Program; or completion of equivalent education and experience that meets the requirement of the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians or completion of education and experience as a behavioral science specialist/technician in the United States military and proof of having completed an Armed Forces course involving a psychiatric technician training or civilian course from an accredited school in the care of behavioral health patients. + Experience: One year (1) of experience as a Psychiatric Technician after graduation. Psychiatric Technician Summary Patient Care and Management: + Monitor, escort, and participate in patient activities in psychiatric clinics and programs. + Provide care for patients utilizing infection control and safety techniques, documenting findings promptly. + Utilize therapeutic assessment and interview skills to assess patient conditions and document care accurately. + Exercise sound judgment and crisis intervention skills to manage potentially harmful situations, following clinic-specific policies. + Screen patients to determine presenting problems and priority of appointment, performing basic assessments and assisting with treatment strategies. + Assist in specialized treatment and rehabilitation, conducting individual and group therapy sessions. + Conduct health and wellness programs, coordinating care with other agencies and facilities. Administrative Responsibilities: + Obtain and record patient information, transcribing into electronic health records and presenting to providers. + Schedule clinic appointments according to standard operating procedures. + Serve as the Automated Neuropsychological Assessment Metrics (ANAM) facilitator, including equipment setup, maintenance, and scheduling referrals. + Monitor and report quality compliance, entering ANAM-based referrals into electronic health records. + Attend and pass ANAM/NCAT facilitator training. Cross-Functional Duties: + Provide treatment and rehabilitation, conducting assessments, counseling, and therapeutic activities. + Identify mental health diagnoses, provide patient education, and observe patient progress. + Institute precautionary measures to prevent injury or suicide. + Coordinate care with other agencies and community resources, explaining mental health services to patients and facilitating referrals. + Maintain treatment records and assist with acute and post-traumatic stress reactions.
