Come work as a Psychiatrist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!
We are seeking an Emergency Psychiatrist to join the Psychiatric Assessment Unit at the Vancouver General Hospital. As an Emergency Psychiatrist, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment and care to patients presenting with acute mental health crises in our busy emergency department.
Responsibilities include conducting timely psychiatric assessments and formulation of treatment plans for patients in crisis, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams including emergency physicians, nurses, social workers, and psychiatric consultants to ensure coordinated care, provision of crisis intervention and stabilization services to patients experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms, and participation in teaching and supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows.
Specialized experience in providing services to psychiatric patients in the ED setting is required. The position is for two full weekdays (regular business hours), scheduled consecutively.
