Key Responsibilities: Conduct psychiatric evaluations to assess mental health conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans. Diagnose and treat a range of mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and others. Provide brief supportive counseling. Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, ensuring safe and effective use. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including social workers, and medical staff, to provide comprehensive patient care. Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations. Provide crisis intervention and support in emergency situations. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and wellness strategies. Participate in case reviews, team meetings, and continuous professional development activities. Qualifications: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution. Completion of psychiatric residency program. Board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry. Active medical license in the state of New York (or eligibility to obtain one). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in clinical psychiatric practice, including inpatient, outpatient, and medical hospital settings. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care. Preferred Skills: Subspecialty training or interest in areas such as consultation-liaison psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, addiction medicine, or forensic psychiatry. Experience working with diverse populations. Knowledge of telepsychiatry practices.
