As a Long-Term Care Psychiatry Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and efficient medical chart documentation under the supervision of medical providers. Your responsibilities include performing various tasks aimed at enhancing provider effectiveness, increasing efficiency, and improving overall patient satisfaction and flow within long-term care facilities.

Responsibilities:

Patient Medical History: Gather comprehensive patient medical histories and details about medications, ensuring all relevant information is available for the physician's review. Appointment Scheduling: Efficiently schedule patient appointments, ensuring that providers can see patients promptly and effectively. Patient Visit Support: Accompany physicians during patient visits to capture and transcribe medical record documentation using electronic medical record applications. Medical Record Updates: Maintain and update patient records with accurate information, including patient history, physical examinations, and other pertinent health details. Documentation Management: Prepare and transmit all documentation to physicians for review and approval, adhering to detailed data entry procedures and facility-specific protocols. Lab Result Monitoring: Monitor the processing time and availability of basic lab results, ensuring timely delivery of crucial information to the medical team.

This role requires attention to detail, effective communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. You will contribute significantly to the smooth operation of long-term care facilities and the delivery of high-quality psychiatric care to patients.

Job Qualifications:

Preferred Experience: Previous experience as a psychiatric technician, coupled with a solid understanding of psychiatric diagnoses and medications, is highly desirable.

Educational Background: While not mandatory, applicants holding a bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field will be given preference. Proficiency in Technology: Proficient in the operation of diverse medical record software and hardware systems, as well as word-processing and database software programs. A minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute (WPM) is preferred. Medical Terminology: Possesses a strong grasp of medical terminology and has practical experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
