All DOC positions are designated as Safety Sensitive Positions and are subject to random drug testing pursuant to the Secretarial Directive governing Personnel Drug Testing. Medical marijuana usage, as defined in Amendment 93 of the Arkansas Constitution, prohibits Personnel in a Safety-Sensitive Position from the use of medical marijuana even if they are qualifying patient under the amendment and/or hold a registry identification card. Department Personnel are prohibited from the use or possession of a medicinal marijuana card pursuant to this policy and state law. Position Information Class Code: L033C Grade: GS09 FLSA Status: EXEMPT Salary Range: $50,222.00 - $80,105.00 Summary The Psychological Examiner is responsible for administering and interpreting psychological tests, evaluating results, developing treatment plans, and evaluating client progress. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Functions Interviews clients to obtain background information, including family history, education, and mental, physical, and emotional health, and prepares report indicating medical problems, educational levels, special needs, residential plans, and further assessment needs. Administers and scores psychological tests, interprets and evaluates test results, and determines an individualized behavioral management/treatment program. Provides psychological counseling, cognitive behavior and psychosocial skills instruction, and behavior modification/management recommendations. Monitors behavior management and treatment programs, documents progress or regression, modifies programs, as necessary, and prepares and maintains progress reports on each client. Attends staff/professional meetings and workshops to discuss progress/problems of clients and make recommendations regarding behavior management. May conduct in-service training for direct care staff on implementation of behavior management procedures or may train family members on treatment methods to be continued at home. May supervise professional staff by interviewing, recommending for hire, assigning and reviewing work, training, and evaluating performance. Performs other duties as assigned. Dimensions None Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of psychological theories and the principles of human behavior. Knowledge of psychological testing procedures and evaluation methods. Knowledge of developmental theories in psychology. Ability to administer and evaluate psychological tests. Ability to conduct individual/group counseling sessions and develop individualized treatment plans. Ability to prepare reports and maintain files. Ability to monitor and document behavior patterns and modify programs. Ability instruct others in the implementation of psychological procedures. Ability to prepare materials and provide training or presentations to staff and external groups. Ability to provide leadership to subordinate staff. Minimum Qualifications The formal education equivalent of a master's degree in psychology; plus three years of experience in psychological examination. Must be licensed as a Psychological Examiner by the State Board of Examiners in Psychology in accordance with ACA 17-97-303. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management.
