Overview Job Profile Summary This position provides direct service to patients in a Behavioral Health Program area. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Completes psychosocial assessments, psychological testing, and treatment plans in cooperation with patient and multidisciplinary team. Offers assistance with interpreting psychological tests as needed. Conducts a comprehensive assessment of the clinical needs of each patient prior to beginning individual, family or group therapy. Works collaboratively with the patient to develop a treatment plan addressing patient’s identified treatment goals. Delivers behavioral health care in accordance with patient evaluation, treatment plan and within the scope of their license. Works directly in treatment relationship with patients, individually or in groups, in consultation with Psychiatrist/NP. Provides crisis assessment and intervention. Consults and coordinates care of patient with physician/NP, therapists and community agencies. Provides appropriate discharge planning. Refers patient or patient's family to other community resources. Participates in clinical collaboration and/or psychiatry supervision to discuss cases and determine appropriate course of treatment. Maintains pertinent patient data and documentation in medical record in accordance with state, TJC and Mercyhealth system guidelines. Attends required meetings or staffing as indicated by Program Manager. Offers in-service education programs and functions as a resource to other staff and the community as needed. Participates in development and selection of patient education materials and services. Participates in performance improvement activities. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all Mercy Health System, State and TJC policies and regulations. Education and Experience Doctorate in Psychology and appropriate level of field experience and coursework. Certification/Licensure Holds and maintains Psychologist license in the state of practice
