The Psychologist II will maintain a clinical caseload including individual and family psychotherapy; diagnostic assessments; parent training; counseling in child development and behavior management. Administer and score psychological tests. Assist parents or caregivers in advocating for their children's needs in the community. Provide supervision to pre-doctoral psychology interns and post-doctoral psychology fellows.  Primary clinical responsibilities will be for individuals aged 5 years through young adulthood.

Responsibilities

1.  Conduct evaluations, including diagnostic assessments, and psychological testing. Select appropriate measures, scores, and interprets results in formulation for treatment planning and recommendations.
2. Function as a therapist within the Psychiatric Mental Health Program, providing high quality competent care in individual, family, and group therapy formats. This may include behavioral therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, social skills training, psycho-education and crisisintervention, and other treatment modalities as appropriate to the needs of the patient.
3. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with families, members of the patient's treatment team, and maintains communication with community professionals involved in the patient's plan of care. 
4. Achieve billing standards by scheduling a sufficient number of patients weekly to account for no show/cancellations, and will contribute toward the overall therapist group flexibility in adjusting schedules to accommodate afternoon/early evening appointments.
5. Assist in coordinating needed services and referrals for patients and families, including but not limited to residential treatment, psychiatric hospitalization, day treatment, in-home services, and school advocacy.
6. Maintain up-to-date progress notes, treatment plans, diagnostic reports and termination reports.  Submit such documents to the electronic health record accurately, and in a timely manner in accordance with the Institute/program guidelines.
7. Arrange coverage for supervision in accordance with discipline guidance when not present due to leave or education days.
8. Participate in meeting with discipline mentor, discipline/program supervisor meetings, clinical trainings and other activities to enhance and increase supervisory skills.
9. Complete written and verbal performance evaluations for psychology associates (in collaboration with director of psychological services), and trainees evaluations required by their program of study.
10. Complete administrative paperwork required/requested by the Institute/discipline/department.
11. Attend and participate in program meetings, case conferences, team meetings, and any others related to direct patient care or the Institute/discipline/program operations.
12. Maintain familiarity with Maryland state laws and the laws and ethical guidelines defined by one's credentialing board with respect to patient confidentiality, conflicting interests, reporting of abuse,patient termination, and supervision of psychology associates.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess and maintain licensure as a psychologist in Maryland.

EDUCATION:
Doctoral degree in Psychology from an APA/CPA-accredited college or university is required.
Completion of APA/CPA-accredited pre-doctoral internship is required.
Postdoctoral fellowship is required.

 

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 1-year experience in working with a population of children with intellectual/neurodevelopmental disabilities. This experience may be satisfied through postdoctoral training in psychology.

Minimum pay range USD $70,510.75/Yr. Maximum pay range USD $125,799.86/Yr.
