JOB DUTIES

Provides individual and/or family therapy/ psychological services to help them understand problems, define goals, and develop realistic action plans.

Physical, psychological and emotional outcomes are individualized and identified.

Systematic and pertinent collection of data for each patient, using interviews, case histories, observational techniques, and other assessment methods, based on age.

Implements a plan of care based on assessment, diagnosis, age and outcome identification.

Functions as Team Member for program(s) and/or classes.

Provides guidance for other team members.

Assists organizing program materials, content, schedule.

Analyze data such as interview notes, test results, and reference manuals to identify symptoms and to diagnose the nature of patients’ problems.

Advise patients on how they could be helped by counseling or other therapies.

Evaluate the results of interventions to determine the reliability and validity of treatments.

Performs other duties as assigned.

 SPECIFIC JOB DEMANDS

Strength: Sedentary Work - Lifting, Carrying, Pushing, Pulling 10 Lbs. occasionally. Mostly sitting, may involve standing or walking for brief periods of time.

Reaching: Occasionally - Extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.

Handling: Occasionally - Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands. Fingers are involved only to the extent that they are an extension of the hand.

Fingering: Occasionally - Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.

Talking: Frequently - Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or to the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

Hearing: Frequently - Perceiving the nature of sounds by ear.

Near Acuity: Frequently - Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Psychologist in the state of PA.

To practice as a clinical psychologist, you must have a doctorate in psychology -- either a Doctor of Philosophy, or Ph.D, or a Doctor of Psychology, or Psy.D.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience.

Skills necessary to effectively communicate with various members of the health care team, other health care facilities, community health related organizations, various external parties and regulatory agencies.

 WORKING CONDITIONS

Primarily in an office setting. May be required to be in various hospital departments. Occasional exposure to angry/hostile patients or families. Must be available to work occasional evenings and/or weekends. May need to work under stressful situations with frequent interruptions.
