State Hospital South (SHS) inBlackfootis seeking a dedicated and compassionatePsychologistto join our team at the Patient Treatment Facility (PTF). In this staff Psychologist role, you will primarily focus on conducting psychological testing and providing care for individuals under involuntary commitment. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a team of professionals who are deeply committed to supporting individuals with mental health conditions and work across various teams and treatment units. State Hospital South was established in 1886 and is in beautiful Southeast Idaho, an area best known for Oregon Trail and Native American history, amazing fly fishing, towering mountain peaks with abundant wildlife and awe-inspiring geological sites. State Hospital South in Blackfoot provides psychiatric inpatient treatment and skilled nursing care for Idaho’s adult citizens with the most serious and persistent mental illnesses. The hospital works in partnership with families and communities to enable clients to return to community living. State Hospital South includes 110 psychiatric adult beds and 42 skilled nursing beds.
The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is a drug-free workplace. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
+ Administer, score, and interpret psychological assessment instruments and provide accompanying reports.
+ Formulate diagnosis and provide therapeutic intervention in unusual and atypical cases.
+ Develop discipline goals and objectives.
+ Provide individual and group therapy.
+ Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams composed of nursing, clinical, providers and other healthcare staff.
+ May serve as a Designated Examiner, dispositioner, and forensic expert.
+ Supervise doctoral level students and interns.
+ Act as SHS site training director within the Idaho Psychology Internship Consortium.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Please make sure your resume or work history supports your meeting the minimum qualifications for this position. Failure to do this may disqualify you from being considered for this position. It is highly recommended to attach a one-page cover letter to your application to demonstrate how you meet the requirements below.
+ Licensure as a psychologist in Idaho in accordance with Idaho Code 54-2307 OR completion of a doctoral degree in psychology from an APA accredited program within six months of hire, AND agreement to obtain licensure per Idaho Code 54-2307 within 24 months of hire.
+ Experience providing direct clinical services. Typically gained by at least two years of experience providing direct clinical services including conducting assessments, psychological testing, therapeutic intervention, diagnosis, counseling and developing treatment plans for clients/patients in a hospital or community-based setting. In your response, please describe the clinical areas in which the direct services were provided, such as psychological evaluations or psychotherapy, clients involved, and the dates services were provided.
Below is preferred experience. It is not required for the position but applicants with this experience may receive consideration over other applicants. Below experience t ypically gained from 1-4 years of practicing in a clinical setting.
+ Experience with seriously mentally ill populations is preferred.
+ Experience supervising clinical services.
+ Some experience with forensic assessment.
+ Experience with a variety of psychological testing measures including, but not limited to: personality, cognitive, intelligence, neurodevelopmental, and validity assessments.
