Work where you matter.** **A Brief Overview** Responsible to provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention of acute, chronic or moderately disturbed mentally ill clients under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. Provides clinical consultation services, community education services. Some travel may be required. **What you will do** + Performs the following essential functions under the supervision of a licensed psychologist: + Coordinates a clinical treatment program for the diagnosis, treatment or referral of clients/patients presenting moderate to severe social adjustment problems. Adheres to policies which assure the confidentiality of client communications. Provide for a multi-disciplinary, holistic approach to the treatment of clients, coordinating same with appropriate hospital departments. + Conducts individual, family, and/or group therapy sessions in accordance with accepted principles of the American Psychological Association. Assesses progress of clients/patients and modify or extend treatment program accordingly. Coordinates care of clients/patients with referring physician or agency. Documents therapy in accordance with hospital policies and procedures on medical records. + Intervenes as a crisis counselor in situations requiring immediate psychological treatment such as substance abuse, suicide attempts, psychotic episodes and other instances as outlined in hospital policy. Refers client or patient to outside agencies where appropriate. + Communicates with family members/significant others in order to further the effectiveness of client/patient treatment and progress. Coordinates client/patient billing and modify treatment program in accordance with insurance coverage, plan provisions, and individual ability to pay. Develops and Coordinates a system and signage by supervisor as needed as it relates to billable services within the medical record of patients. Meet with Director for scheduled supervision sessions. + Provides educational programs on a variety of psychological topics to hospital/community groups as requested. + Administers and interprets psychological assessment instruments and outcomes. + Follows through with attending regularly scheduled weekly supervision session with assigned supervisor and/or psychology director. Alerts psychology director to any issues or concerns as it relates to policies, procedures, client issues and/or clinic problems. + Attends at least 50% of the Psychology Section meetings. **Essential Qualifications** The individual must be able to work the hours specified. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds.
