Position Availability: Position Title: Psychology Graduate Admission Student Liaison: Student Assistant Specialist Requisition Number: 0406073514 Location New York City Position Type: Student Department: Provost/Provost's Office Responsibilities: Psychology graduate admission student liaison serve as an important contact for the Psychology department of The New School for Social Research, the Admission Office and prospective and admitted students. They are responsible for answering questions about courses, viable lines of study and research, student life, etc. Other inquiries about admission policies, procedures, and requirements should be referred to the Admission Office.

RESPONSIBILITIES Respond to emails sent to the liaison department/program account daily and provide useful guidance and assistance.  Upon request, meet with prospective students, either in person, by phone, or virtually, at a mutually convenient time, Arrange class visits for prospective students who are interested in them. Assist with small research projects, directly related to the graduate admission student liaison position, for the Admission Office. Attend monthly liaison meetings, Open House/Information Sessions, including admitted student events, to provide information from the student’s perspective to prospective students.

HOURLY RATE$20 per hour Minimum Qualifications: Strong writing and public speaking skills; strong communicator Able to collaborate within and across departments and with external stakeholders Organized in managing multiple projects, both administratively and in execution Have at least one semester of graduate study in the Psychology MA or PhD program
