Psychology - Grant funded Research Assistant

We are hiring two undergraduate research assistants to support the research of Dr. Adam Smiley (Belmont) and Dr. Cheryl Kaiser (University of Washington) that is funded by a grant from the John Templeton Foundation. Research assistants will work as part of a larger research team that includes a PhD student and undergraduate research assistants at the University of Washington. Grant funding for these positions will run until September 2027.

The grant-funded research focuses on whether within-individual changes in religiosity lead to changes in attitudes towards political outgroup members. We will use a variety of methods including ecological momentary assessments, experiments, and natural experiments. You can learn more about the grant and proposed research here: https://www.tennessean.com/story/news/religion/2024/08/27/belmont-receives-grant-to-study-how-religion-can-reduce-polarization/74966800007/

Research assistants will complete a variety of tasks to support the research process including reading academic articles, writing literature reviews, designing stimuli, building surveys, data cleaning, data analysis, and administrative tasks.

Mostly remote except for occasional in-person meetings with Dr. Smiley. Mostly computer work. No heavy lifting.
