6) Maintain competence in the academic area and be an active member of a professional organization
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred Experience and Training 1. EMS education experience
2. 5 years field experience as a Paramedic Physical Requirements 1. Have sufficient hearing ability to respond appropriately to students, patients, clients, and coworkers; provide accurate patient assessment; and recognize alarms and signals.
2. Have sufficient visual acuity to allow for patient assessment from a distance, read English in regular to extra fine print on pharmaceutical labels and graduations on an insulin syringe.
3. Have sufficient verbal ability to effectively communicate instructions and directions to students and coworkers in a classroom, laboratory, and clinical setting.
4. Have sufficient physical strength to handle equipment,transfer patient or equipment without physical impairment; and stand, walk, crawl, or kneel for prolonged periods of time. Required Degree, License or Certifications Associate’s Degree and 3 years non-teaching work experience in Emergency Medical Services or related field. Current Paramedic certification.

Special Notes To Applicants This position will be paid via instructor loads units (ILU’s) per class to a max of 11 ILU’s per semester. The employee must be able to attend each lecture, lab, or clinical class they are assigned to. Most EMS classes meet on set days, therefore you would need to be present for each day the class meets. Example: Paramedic lab meet every Tuesday & Thursday from 0830am – 12:30pm, so you will need to be present for each lab every Tuesday & Thursday when the class meets. The position involves collaboration with EMS faculty members.
