Position Availability: Position Title: PT Faculty- MS in Strategic Design and Management Requisition Number: 0306071210 Location New York City Position Type: Part Time Faculty Position Status: Part-Time Department: PSD/School of Design Strategies Responsibilities: The School of Design Strategies at Parsons School of Design is seeking part-time faculty to teach across the following courses within the Master of Science program in Strategic Design and Management: New Design Firms, Integrative Studio 1, Integrative Studio 2 and Design Innovation + Leadership. Academically rigorous and industry-focused, the MS in Strategic Design and Management responds to the major restructuring of developed and emerging economies worldwide. Unlike traditional Master’s degrees in design and management, this program fuses design thinking, business logic, economic frameworks and specific values of sustainability, social value creation and responsible entrepreneurial innovation; in doing so, the program supports and ultimately aspires to define an emerging discipline in its own right. Students in the program focus on the evolving global economy and are exposed to sophisticated real-world perspectives on operations, sustainability, management, leadership, entrepreneurship, design innovation, and design research.

Hourly Rate:
Studio courses $95.54/contact hour;
Seminar courses: $127.85/contact hour


Minimum Qualifications:
Baseline qualifications required across all courses:
• An advanced degree in business or design discipline or equivalent relevant professional industry experience and/or entrepreneurial experience.
• A strong record of recent professional practice in strategic design, particularly in creative industries.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools commonly used in strategic design and management.

Course specific additional qualifications required:
Integrative Studio 1 & 2:
• Experience in studio teaching with a particular interest in design research
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
• Working knowledge of design thinking frameworks and tools
New Design Firms:
• Work experience in design firms
• Interest in creative design of new technical and strategic solutions
Design Innovation + Leadership:
• Knowledge of innovation and leadership concepts and practices
• Demonstrated relevant experience
Ability to adhere to University COVID-19 Policy and requirements.
