The Physical Therapist Assistant Lead is a clinically competent, licensed, professional of his/her discipline who assumes responsibility and accountability for the provision of approved therapy to a group of residents/patients under his/her care. Assists with operational and fiscal activities of Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapy including planning and the development of systems and processes to improve the operating quality, and safety and efficiency of the department.
ResponsibilitiesPerforms care duties on all residents per policy and discipline specific requirements. Establishes and maintains professional relationships with physicians, facility and community health care professionals, residents, and families. Assists with providing educational in-services and participate in marketing activities as requested. Establishes and maintains professional relationships with therapy staff, work closely with Regional Director of Rehab to assist with appropriate tasks and duties, and assure compliance with facility and department policies and procedures through effective communication, education, training, and orientation. Assists with hiring, training, and coaching employees in accordance with organizational policies and procedures while complying with regulatory standards of Department of Health and any other professional guidelines or standards. Manages daily departmental activities related to budget, staffing, supplies, Medicare and other payment utilization and caseload management, billing, and payroll. Assists with developing Quality Improvement Plans within facility Quality Assurance programs. Attends meetings, workshops, seminars and participates in committees as requested/required by facility.
