Physical Therapist Assistant

As a Physical Therapist Assistant you will administers therapeutic exercises and physical therapy modalities to assist patient in healing and return to their daily living activities.

POSITION SUMMARY

Performs components of physical therapy procedures and related tasks selected by a supervising physical therapist; assist physical therapists in providing services that help improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease.

Responsibilities
Instructs, motivates and Assists patients to learn and improve functional activity, such as pre-ambulation, transfer, ambulation and daily living activitiesAssesses, and compiles data on patients’ responses to treatments Fit patients for, adjusts, and trains patients in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devicesEncourages the active participation of the patient and/or family in goal setting and patient/family training/education
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate Degree; Major in Kinesiology/Applied Science or other Physical Therapy related fieldLicensed by the State of Texas- Physical Therapist AssistantBLS CPR certified, American Heart Association

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
