PTE Field Engineer - Entry Level

This position is based in our Boise, ID or Vancouver, WA POWER Engineers office supporting utility and industrial clients across the Western United States.

Position requires up to 85% travel.

Job Summary of Roles and ResponsibilitiesPerform testing and commissioning of apparatus, protection and control systems on medium and high voltage substations.Support and perform on site hands-on protective relay testing using relay test sets such as Omicron CMC 256/356 or Doble F6150.Support and perform on site hands-on apparatus inspection and testing of circuit breakers, transformers, instrumentation transformersTechnical and Safety DevelopmentSupport Project Lead or Field Supervisor on projectsAccurately document test results and produce field reports on requested formatRead and understand electrical drawings, schematics and wiring diagramsPerform clerical responsibilities such as timecards, expense reports and project reportsField travel to project sitesRequired Education/ExperienceA Bachelor of Science in Engineering; preferably electrical, or electrical technologyGood interpersonal, written and oral, communication skillsDetail oriented with excellent analytical skills, and ability to perform mathematical calculations, working knowledge of computer systems and microprocessor or relay software and project environment skillsAdministrative software: MS Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPointExperienced in managing electrical and/or construction drawingsValid drivers licenseAbility to meet minimum insurability standards based on a Motor Vehicle ReportAbility to pass federal drug and alcohol testAbility to pass seven (7) year background checkDesired Education/ExperienceNETA or NICET II/III certificationDemonstrable expertise electrical protection relays (SEL, Basler, Beckwith, and GE families) and protective schemes.Demonstrable knowledge of electrical apparatus fundamentals.Technical Software for testing purposes and data review: ProTesT, Protection Suite, ENOSERV RTS,Omicron Test Universe and AcSELerator Quickset

Base Salary Range: $24 - $36 per hour

The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
