Public Area Houseperson is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the Lobby, Arcade, Lower Lobby, Elevators, Rest Rooms, Courtyard, Outlets and Hotel Office Areas.

Principle duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include:   

Key Job FunctionsTo establish a comprehensive understanding and demonstrate the Royal Sonesta guest standardsTo establish and maintain a comprehensive understanding of all: cleaning chemicals, air fresheners and supplies required for this positionTo establish an understanding and the knowledgeable for all surfaces to be cleaned and appropriate cleanersEnsure rest rooms are clean and maintained in an excellent state of police. Bathroom rounds should be made every 30 minutes and every 15 minutes during special events/functionsEnsure bathrooms are disinfected during each roundReport all maintenance problems and follow up to completionReport all carpet/ upholstery spill/spotsEnsure the following are cleaned as they are used: ash trays and urns, tables, counter tops, windows, and mirrorsDust Mop all floors and dust all furniture at the start of each shift, 45 minutes before the shift ends and as neededMaintain contact with housekeeping via radio/pagerRespond to hotel requests within 15 minutesRemain visible in work area any other duties given by management.Collect any Lost/Found items in the Public Area, entering the information in the Lost/Found log maintained in the officeInventory stock and supplies to ensure adequate suppliesDeliver Passionate & Engaging Service to our GuestsYou will be passionate and truly engaged in taking care of our guests,  recognizing individual guests and anticipating their unique needs in order to exceed their expectationsYou will consistently deliver our GUEST model:Greet or welcome everyone, warmly with a smileUse eye and ear contact and guest’s nameEstablish/anticipate needsSolve and own all requests/complaintsThank everyoneBuild solid relationship with your ColleaguesTreat colleagues with respect and dignityTreat people with respect; Keep commitments; inspire the trust of others; Work with integrity and ethically; Uphold organizational values.Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. Qualifications and Skills

A candidate for this position must possess the following applicable knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to demonstrate and provide applicable examples to support his/her competency.

Track record of delivering exceptional guest or client experienceHave basic to intermediate writing/reading/comprehension skills and professional vocabulary and etiquette; Have the ability to comfortably interact with guests, work alone or with others; Maintain Sonesta uniform and grooming standardsComfortably work in a diverse environment with regard to guests, members of the Housekeeping T.E.A.M. and hotel employeesPC-based computer platforms (Smartphone technology to report maintenance discrepancies)

Education and/or Experience                                                                                  

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
