Public Affairs and Media Engagement Specialist Job Category: Communications Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 25% Type of Travel: Continental US * * * **What You’ll Get to Do:** As a CACI-SOAS (Special Operations and Asymmetric Solutions) Public Affairs and Media Engagement Specialist, you will support the U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) Communication Integration Directorate (CCCI) which serves as the principal advisor to the Commander on all internal and external communication strategies and supports the command's theater objectives. CCCI supports the command's obligation to keep the American people and regional audiences informed about USCENTCOM operations that lead to defeating our adversaries, improving regional stability and promoting and protecting U.S. interest in the USCENTCOM area of responsibility (AOR). **More About the Role:** As a Public Affairs and Media Engagement Specialist, you will be responsible for researching, writing, and coordinating responses to media queries; and when directed and under U.S. Government supervision, answer media queries on a non-attributable basis. Public Affairs and Media Engagement Specialists provides media monitoring and real-time feedback on news and press coverage on key USCENTCOM issues, and providing the ability to alert CCCI leadership of breaking coverage and, when necessary, correct inaccurate reporting. Other duties will include: + Conduct research as required in order to write public affairs guidance (PAG), response to query (RTQ), and talking points (TPs) on key issues. + Plan and conduct daily conference calls with community PAOs, including both higher PA headquarters and USCENTCOM component PA offices. + Provide media training expertise to key senior USCENTCOM leaders or designated spokespersons. + Develop and provide preparatory books for key senior USCENTCOM leaders in advance of media engagements. + Develop and provide a timely rollup summary product to CCCI leadership and other USCENTCOM leaders at the end of a media engagement or coverage of a high-profile issue. + Assist in the preparation of senior CCCI personnel in executing weekly public affairs briefings (via DVIDs and/or conference calls) with the Pentagon Press Corps, including the development of timely talking points, taking notes on the briefings, researching queries in real-time as required, etc. **You’ll Bring These Qualifications:** + Current DoD Secret Security Clearance. + 5-7 years of experience in developing public affairs plans and media campaigns + Bachelor's degree + Current U.S. passport + Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications + Ability to exercise sound judgment in a dynamic and highly political environment is required + Must exhibit excellent organizational, time management, writing, editorial, and presentation skills + Fluency in written and spoken English **These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:** + Current DOD TS/SCI + Defense Information School (DINFOS) Public Affairs Officer Qualification Course (PAOQC) + Previous experience in a country or area in the USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility - Middle East or Central Asia + Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES) or military planning experience + Joint professional military education (JPME) **What We Can Offer You:** + CACI-Special Operations and Asymmetric Solutions Operating Group resides within CACI’s Operations Support and Services Sector.
