**Summary:** Meta is seeking a Public Affairs Manager focused on rapid response communications. This person is expected to maintain relationships with key media and influencers and should be highly organized, energetic, and detail-oriented. Key parts of the role will include devising media and social media strategy around challenging and time-sensitive issues, drafting statements and messaging, and working directly with reporters. The ideal candidate will need to quickly absorb complex issues, come up with a response strategy, and lead cross-functional efforts to reach resolution. This role is on the Strategic Response Communications team. **Required Skills:** Public Affairs Manager, Strategic Response Responsibilities: 1. Lead response strategy on some of Meta’s most pressing and complex issues 2. Work directly with reporters on stories 3. Draft statements and messaging 4. Develop and execute rapid response plans for media/social media 5. Partner with communications team colleagues when issues arise in their areas of subject matter expertise 6. Counsel cross-functional partners, including leadership, on communications considerations for policy changes, product updates and other announcements **Minimum Qualifications:** Minimum Qualifications: 7. 7+ years of experience working in communications or journalism 8. Bachelor's degree in Communications/Journalism, English, or related field 9. Experience working directly with reporters 10. Experience leveraging social media platforms as a rapid response strategy 11. Experience managing issues and rapid response communications 12. Experience drafting messaging materials, and working with cross-functional groups 13. Experience with multiple deliverables and working in a deadline driven environment 14.
