OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY
The Public Health & Adult (HSE) Education Coordinator is a dual-role position that supports educational and public health initiatives within the community. This individual oversees programs to assist individuals in achieving their high school equivalency certification while also coordinating public health efforts to promote community wellness, remove any healthcare barriers, and ensure compliance with health standards. The person in this role will report directly to the Provost and Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs.
This position does not supervise others.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
High School Equivalency Coordination
Manage programs to support individuals preparing for the HSE exam. Oversee student recruitment and enrollment. Provide guidance to program participants, including academic planning and career readiness resources. Track participant progress and prepare reports to evaluate program effectiveness. Compiles data from various sources to track student cohorts, demographics, and other program-related information. Prepares reports for internal and external use. Maintain detailed notes on all student interactions. Organize workshops and tutoring sessions tailored to diverse learners' needs. Performs various administrative duties to ensure student and program reports, records, and other materials are complete and accurately maintained according to relevant policies, procedures, laws, and other regulations.Public Health Coordination
Design and conduct program experiences with deliverables to educate and inform minority communities on healthcare concerns. Collaborate with healthcare providers, government agencies, and community organizations to address public health concerns. Establish recommendations and tips on relaying information to the public. Attend safe public events to ensure proper education and conduct assessments. Monitor and evaluate health trends in the community and provide data-driven recommendations. Distribute educational materials on health topics to families. Produce detailed written reports documenting and evaluating the program’s progress. Oversee the management of the IU Health grant.Additional Job Functions
Represent the institution at functions upon request. Serve on administrative committees as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned.
