DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Public Health Program Director, you will have the opportunity to coordinate activities with other programs in the Department of Health to ensure the proper supply and distribution of health professionals at both state and local levels. Additionally, you will be responsible for overseeing various programs targeted at improving the accessibility and distribution of primary health care providers. Your work will include managing cooperative agreements and grants with the federal government, as well as contracts for loan repayment, community-based health care grants, Area Health Education Center grants, and other programs authorized under Act 113 of 1992 or Act 10 of 2013. You will play a vital role in ensuring the success of these programs and promoting access to quality health care for all. In this position, you will manage and oversee the work of the office staff. Your responsibilities will involve assigning tasks, establishing timelines for completion, setting work standards, and monitoring compliance. You will also provide guidance and support to the staff in carrying out their assigned work to ensure the effective functioning of the office. In addition, you will maintain position descriptions, conduct employee performance evaluations, and approve or deny leave and travel requests.
