Public Relations Assistant
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Public Relations Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will support various PR initiatives, manage administrative tasks, and contribute to the overall success of our PR department.

Essential Job Responsibilities-

Calendar and Budget Organizing:

Maintain and update various PR calendars (including master calendars, lifestyle calendars, performance calendars, philanthropic calendars, ambassadors and athlete calendars, etc.)

Assist in managing PR budgets and allocating quarterly budgets for brand integration opportunities

Media Monitoring and Reporting:

Organize daily hits in broadcast and media monitoring portals

Delete irrelevant content and manage Google alerts

Scan, clip, and file press placements for long lead, short lead, and online media

Conduct weekly newsstand visits to purchase magazines/newspapers with press hits

Press Samples and Requests:

Log press requests and pulls

Ship and manage inventory of press samples

Submit and log shoe orders to data entry

Event and Outreach:

Support the planning and execution of various events, including:

Adoption events for BOBS from Skechers

Press events for product launches

Events featuring ambassadors and athletes

Philanthropic initiatives

Brand partnership events

Assist with event logistics such as venue sourcing, scheduling, and event invitations.

Influencer and Media Relations:

Prepare and ship mailings for gifts, social posts, and new product launches to editors, celebrities, influencers, athletes and ambassadors

Maintain and build editor contact lists for print, online, regional, and broadcast media

Maintain, organize and update ambassador, athlete, influencer and agency contacts

Administrative Support:

Organize and manage press materials and files

Assist with general administrative tasks as needed

Maintain SILA (graphics platform), including job insertion and product mood boards. The position will also serve as a backup to the traffic coordinator for all marketing jobs in graphics.

Internal Communications:

Support in preparing meeting agendas and preparing meeting recaps as needed

Job Requirements-

Ability to work on-site at the Skechers Headquarters in Manhattan Beach, CA

Interest in Public Relations

Strong organizational and multitasking skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and media monitoring tools

Knowledge of social media platforms and influencer marketing strategies

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Attention to detail and accuracy in work

Interest in fashion, lifestyle, and consumer products industries

Creative thinker with a proactive and problem-solving attitude

Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset

Education and Experience-

College degree – Emphasis in Marketing/PR/Communications preferred

The pay range for this role is $27-$30/hr USD
