The Community & Public Relations Intern will have the opportunity to work within a large organization and learn how Community Relations and Public Relations works with other teams within the Marketing department. This role will support internal work for The UPS Store franchisees as well as external-facing content for customers. Expect a fast-paced environment, collaborative work, and pride in brand awareness.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Assists with planning, writing, and publishing content intended for both the franchisee and external customer audienceCorresponds with the franchise network on general PR and community relations questionsEducates the franchise network about new and current PR support tools and content available for use on the franchisee intranetAssists with writing franchisee and customer stories, conducting interviews and preparing editorial content for external releaseResearches new PR tactics and competitor trends using informal and formal research techniquesProvides technology marketing with updated content for company websiteParticipates in Community Relations work supporting Corporate Social Responsibility charitiesHelps with special projects, as neededPerforms analysis of key data and interprets findings for larger Marketing campaignsKnowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of public relations skills, including writing press releases, responding to media queries, writing media pitches and public speakingAbility to balance multiple projects and expectations, while meeting all deadlinesStrong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work as changes occurAbility to professionally communicate verbally and in writing to a variety of audiences (internal, external, franchisee, etc.)2 years of undergraduate education in Public Relations, Marketing Communication, Digital Engagement and/or a related area of study – PreferredExperience using Microsoft Office suite of products preferred (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.)Ability to synthesize large amounts of information, think critically, ask questions, and provide creative ideas and feedbackInterested in supporting charitable causesBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
