Public Safety EMT-B/Safety Officer $22.00/HR - $23.00/HR

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs within the scope and training of the EMT, and consistent with State/ Federal regulations including HIPAA and other applicable regulations, including patient confidentiality and risk management. Provide medical care to guests and team members within scope of professional training as needed. Respond to First Aid calls and take appropriate control of the situation while considering the safety of those other associates and guests. Provision of competent patient care, for all ages, and conditions in the population the park serves, when responding to cultural needs of patients and families. Triaging, providing first aid, and/or referral to outside medical providers if necessary. Complete documentation for all patients and incidents and maintain records accordingly per company policy. Conduct daily facility audits, recognize safety concerns in accordance with Cal/OSHA, and communicate any discrepancies when found to the appropriate departments. Perform general inspection, testing, and maintenance on life safety and emergency response equipment. Perform fire and hazmat investigations while following any/all emergency preparedness procedure policy. Work alongside different departments for collaboration and streamlining response procedures. Monitor and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory is maintained. Facilitate and maintain the workers’ compensation process for employees with work related injuries. Conduct COVID-19 Screening and COVID-19 testing Maintain a clean work area, including patient rooms, supply rooms and First Aid walkways.

Basic Qualifications:

 Education:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent Must possess a valid Emergency Medical Technician Certification with the state of California Must possess a current professional rescuer CPR/AED certification or current course completion card for standardized CPR

Additional Requirements:

Must possess a valid driver’s license Must have reliable transportation Ability to lift or move up to 50+ pounds Must be available at least 3 days a week, one being Saturday/Sunday Ability to evaluate complex emergency situations and understand appropriate medical response strategies and tactics to minimize losses Ability to accurately discern and interpret directions, signage, addresses, and landmarks Ability to appropriately interview all parties involved in incidents Ability to utilize emergency medical equipment in a proficient manner, communicate concisely, clearly, and effectively in both written and verbal form Ability to document relevant information in written form in a prescribed format Ability to handle tools and equipment necessary to perform First Aid services Ability to spend long periods of time standing or moving Physical activities include bending, stooping, lifting, climbing, carrying, walking and/or reaching on a frequent basis Must be able to assist in evacuation procedures on roller coaster lifts. Ability to work as a team player Ability to work in all types of weather conditions Ability to work in low light, confined spaces, and potentially hazardous environments Must be able to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs Ability to work with an inclusive and diverse atmosphere. Ability to follow direction, policy, and procedures set by the Park. Incident Command System knowledge
