experience required preferred License and Certification Current State of Connecticut Certification as a Public Safety Officer or be able to obtain certification within days of hire Valid drivers license with a clean record Successful completion of Fitness for duty test Successful completion of Management of Aggressive Behavior Handcuffing Oleoresin Capsicum First Aid CPR AED certifications required and as a condition of continued employmentKNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions and effectively communicate information Basic computer skills including openingreading email basic internet useAbility to read and understand oral and written instructions and communicate effectively in order to provide information and instruction PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING Work is performed in accordance with instructions and procedures but Incumbents must organize the work and set priorities Requires the ability to exercise discretion and
