all in need Currently these sites include soup kitchens shelters congregate housing and apartment complexes and senior centers The program is currently a ldquobricks and mortarrdquo operation necessitating the set up and breakdown of the equipment and supplies necessary to operate the clinics within designated sites The future of NBHC plans to offer more direct street medicine with teams both on foot and using outreach vehicles to meet people where they are in tents encampments on doorsteps etcThe Neighborhood Health Public Safety Officer provides professional safety and security services to ensure a safe environment for the Neighborhood Health clinics the team and the community Responsibilities include but are not limited to the followingMonitors clinic site andor community outreach to identify suspicious activity behavior safety concerns and mitigates risksAssists Medical Staff as requested combative patients unruly patients stand by and controlling a situationImmersed in the community engaging with people in their neighborhoodsAssist with breaking down stigmas by promoting positive dialogue between people experiencing homelessness and psychosocial issues and the medical communityProvides a timely response and takes appropriate actions to potentialactualsecurity threatsPrepares detailed reports of all incidents and security issuesJob SummaryPublic Safety Officers serve as front line guardians to the Hartford HealthCare Community by providing customer service and ensuring our environments are safe secure and more prepared for all of our patients visitors colleagues clinicians and physicians Public Safety Officers are equipped to prevent hazardous situations with their presence respond and manage hazardous and emergency situations and provide support and resources when situations are successfully managedmiddotProvides professional customer service focused assistance to the HHC Community including patients visitors families colleagues clinicians physicians and the first responder community among othersmiddotPatrols and rounds facility to identify concerning activity safety concerns or other problems May be assigned to fixed areas to check credentials provide information or directions When assigned to mobile patrols operates vehicles in a safe manner complying with all traffic and safety rulesmiddotProvides a timely response uses problem solving to take appropriate action to manage and investigate security incidents and hazardsmiddotMaintain current knowledge of instructions policies and procedures and performs work in accordance with these guidelinesmiddotShares information with other Public Safety Officers maintains accurate activity logs and completes reports and documentationmiddotPartners with law enforcement and other first responders when circumstances warrantmiddotInforms supervisor or other leadership of unusual situations and request additional assistance as neededmiddotCompletes other duties as
